Vestry Plans and Progress

Writer: julene15julene15

Dear Friends,

Last Saturday, the Vestry, Treasurer and Interim Rector met for a full day of discussion. We shared ambitious hopes for the year ahead and numerous ideas of how to address the challenges and opportunities we face.  Over the next few weeks, each of our Vestry teams will communicate more specific plans and progress updates.

We also realize that our capacity - of the Vestry, Volunteers, Staff and Clergy - are all finite. In many cases "our eyes are bigger than our stomach". So, to avoid overload and burnout, we have to prioritize, try to tackle some of the most urgent and important issues, leaving others for another day. And "best laid plans" will inevitably be disrupted by emergencies - such as a tree falling in a storm, a recent surprise, or a leaking pipe, now awaiting repair.

So I have two requests. First, if you feel called to support the work of the Vestry - in Engagement, Strategy or Property - contact us individually or via askvestry@emmanuelmi.org. Second, please be patient with requests, understanding when changes take a different shape from your expectation, and support of our wonderful staff, volunteers and clergy through whom so much of this work flows.

In gratitude,

Michael
